Replacement Practice Wall
Our new wall panels will be delivered week commencing 26th March. Subject to delivery, the new wall panels will need to be put up between 28th March and 1st April and we will be looking for volunteers to help. Information will be circulated once the delivery is confirmed.
Huge thanks to Thursday morning senior players Colin, Mike Anthony, Geoff, Roger, John Brotherhood, and Michael along with Mark Love who, between them, removed the old panels, wire brushed and painted the rails ready for the new wall, and repaired the leaking tap in the gents and the burst pipe in the top room, including taking up the floor covering and mopping it out. Great job everyone, many thanks.

The fundraisers are doing great! A huge number of you have generously donated to individuals for their efforts, and we thank you all. Those of you that have not yet donated but wish to help reach our objectives – new LED’s, new courts, and professional coaching for the less able – can do so using the website details below, or you will find other MyDonate fundraiser details on the Purley Bury Tennis Club website (www.purleyburytennisclub.net). The websites will not close until 4th April, so there is plenty of time to help individuals to reach their targets.
Jesus and Ryan need just £90 to hit their target of £400 (just 9 tenners or 18 fivers would see them through!), please support them if you can at:
Making a donation in your will
Have you considered making a donation to the club in your will
This can be done very easily when you make your will, or if you already have one, by adding a codacil.
There are two types of bequest:
- Specific amounts
- A residuary bequest, which is a percentage of your estate after taxes, debts and any specific amounts have been paid
In either case, your donation will be very much appreciated and help ensure the future of the club for the next generation
Team and long term social member, Misaki Kumon, is returning to Japan in April as her husband has retired. We would like to wish them all the very best and a most enjoyable retirement in her home country. Good luck to you both! To wish her bon voyage, everybody that has known and played with Misaki is invited to wish her all the best in the bar after ladies match practice coaching, which will take place on Wednesday, 21st March around 8.30pm. Ladies, why not sign up for coaching and enjoy the farewell afterwards?
Hiring the Club House
Don’t forget our licensed club house is available for evening hire most weekends throughout 2018 at a very reasonable rate. Family and friends are most welcome to enquire about availability as well.
