Your Purley Bury Newsletter – May 2019

YOUR PURLEY BURY NEWSLETTER – APRIL 2019 – Lease Celebration Event and Fun Day – Sunday, 2nd June

Many of you will be aware that the Purley Bury Clubs were able to renew their leases for the next 21 years from 5th June. This means that Purley Bury Tennis Club members will be able to enjoy tennis at our courts until 2040! The lease renewal brings huge benefits to the club – security of tenure, potential for grant funding, and confidence in investing into the club facilities are just a few. On Sunday, 2nd June, The Bowls Club, The Croquet Club and the Tennis Club are all going to celebrate the lease renewal. We have a packed schedule, which will provide an amazing Fun Day for the whole family. There will also be an opportunity to try Croquet and to visit the Bowls Club to take a look at their facilities. Our ladies 1st team will start a Surrey League inter-club match at 9.30 am – if you would like to watch some of the best tennis played on our courts, come along to see how they do. The rest of the day follows on with something for everyone. Please join us to celebrate our new lease and a fantastic future at Purley Bury Tennis Club!

Our new table tennis came to the fore as Mark Love was playing with a disabled member at the time of the visit. Thanks to Nicki England for suggesting we apply for community funding..
