Happy New Year, and we hope you are all doing well within the constraints of the lockdown. Of course, we are all missing our tennis, but unfortunately our courts must remain CLOSED until further notice as per government guidelines.

The one exception is that organised outdoor sport for the disabled is allowed to continue. Therefore, as some of you may be aware, we are continuing to run our disability tennis session between 4pm-5pm on Friday afternoons. Well done to Mark and his team of volunteers who are running this session with all COVID procedures in place to keep all attendees/volunteers safe. If you want to get involved, please email Mark.
The next government announcement and review is due on 15/2 and we all hope there will be some relaxation of the rules which will allow us to play tennis again for the health and well being of us all.
There are exciting times this year as we plan to push on to make more improvements to our club, with the veranda being our big project for 2021. Also, players will all be able to access a World Tennis Number which will count for singles and doubles rating and will replace your LTA rating. Details can be found here: ITF World Tennis Number additional resources | LTA
The management team are still working in the background and meeting via TEAMS to plan for our return and keep on top of club matters. We have decided to delay the AGM until at least the latter part of March when the picture may be clearer. It is likely to be a Zoom call. It is still our intention to send out Membership renewals in March, but this is very much dependent on us being able to play again by the beginning of the membership year which you will recall has been brought forward this year to 1 April.
Meanwhile, if you have an idea or want to help the club in any way please get in touch. Many thanks to Nathan for clearing the gutters – essential work in view of the recent deluge and snow.
