VE Bank Holiday Virtual Celebrations

As promised, please find details of PBTC events happening this Friday/Saturday/Sunday to commemorate the 75th anniversary of VE Day.
FRIDAY 8TH
We are asking members to join the “Stay at Home Street Party”, which your street or road might be participating in as well.
We are giving members the opportunity to connect with each other using Zoom within a two-hour window – 2.45pm to 4.45pm.
Join before 3.00pm to participate in the nation’s toast, at 3.00pm, by raising a glass. Sign in from your garden if decorated red, white or blue. Or join in anytime to say hello. We look forward to seeing you!

SATURDAY 9TH
There will be a quiz evening at 8.00pm, again on Zoom, hosted by Sarah Wilson and Nathan Ascott. To make this manageable, numbers will be restricted – please email Sarah Wilson on sarahcrid@talktalk.net if you would like to take part, by 6.00pm on Friday. Log-in details will be sent separately.
SUNDAY 10TH
We are encouraging members to have a tea party at home and you are invited to send pictures of home-made cakes to enter our very own “Purley Bury Bake-Off”. Please WhatsApp pictures to Sarah Wilson on 07971 291688. Pictures will be shared and the winner announced on the Purley Bury Facebook page and in the next newsletter.
Also on Sunday, for the young at heart, there will be a fun Scavenger Hunt, hosted by the Love family!
Please only join if you are happy to be part of a WhatsApp group with your mobile number and are happy to share pics of you and your family completing the tasks! The group will then be deleted once we have our winner. Some of us have been doing this weekly with friends and it’s great fun to get all the family involved.
The Scavenger Hunt will start on Sunday 10th at 2.00pm in your home and will last for approximately 45 minutes. When you receive our instructions, you have to go and find the objects etc and send a photo to the group with your team number clearly displayed as quickly as possible. You will love it!
