DESCRIPTION:Due to the forecast of heavy rain tomorrow evening from 5pm onwards we are postponing the Grand Opening of the Veranda Event from 30 September until next Friday 7/10. The schedule will stay the same and we hope as many members and friends will join us to raise a glass at 6.45pm. Details of the event can be found in the original notice below. \nPlease note there are still places available for our members doubles tournament at 7pm after the Grand Opening aimed at team players and Rota players (Monday / Thursday). If you wish to enter please email Mark at mdlcoaching@hotmail.com \nTOMORROW 30 September – Junior night and disability tennis are scheduled to go ahead as normal until we know how bad the weather will be and if we cancel we will email those who have signed up on Clubspark. \n  \nORIGINAL DETAILS OF EVENT \nThe Grand Opening of the refurbished ‘Top Building’\, the veranda with improved access to the kitchen and toilets\, and the approach accesses will be held on Friday\, 30th September 2022. (GRAND OPENING AT 6.45pm but activities from 4pm). \nAll members and their friends are invited to come along and join in with the fun and enjoy a drink on the new veranda. We hope to see as many of you as possible on the evening. DESCRIPTION:Finals Day Saturday 16 July 2022 Order of Play \nSenior Finals’ Day (Saturday 16th July) is fast approaching. The tournament is running well and some fantastic matches have been played. \nThe day itself\, which will consist of 10 finals played on two courts\, always proves to be a great success and is easily the biggest event in the club’s calendar. An order of play for the main and the plate tournaments\, with timings\, will be published early next week. \nThe works on the veranda are now progressing and we are confident the clubhouse and all the usual outdoor seating areas will be fully accessible on the day. We are also hoping for good weather. \nThe bar will be open from 10am and will be serving drinks (including mojitos\, prosecco and Pimms). Ice poles and lollies will also be available. Payment at the bar can be made by both cash and card. \nThe BBQ will be serving burgers and South African boerewors sausages from around midday onwards. Vegan / vegetarian alternatives will also be served. If you wish to purchase anything from the BBQ\, please pay at the bar and show your receipt when collecting your food. \nComplimentary squash and water will be made available from an outside stand in the car park. Self-service tea and coffee will also be available throughout the day\, with strawberries and cakes also being served from the outside stand from around 2pm. To enjoy these delicacies\, and the hot drinks\, please purchase a refreshments pass from the bar (£3). \nAs finals’ day is an opportunity to showcase our club to local residents\, sponsors and prospective members\, we need to ensure the club looks at its best. We recently sent out a communication for working party volunteers on the mornings of Saturday 2nd July and Sunday 10th July. DESCRIPTION:For absolutely no reason\, there will be a party at the club on 30th October starting at 5pm. This event is open to all members. However\, if you do need a reason to party\, we will also be celebrating the official end of the summer tennis season. \nRobbie is keen to practice his mixology skills\, so in addition to the normal bar offering\, there will be some cocktails too. DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSave the date – Please note the Dinner Dance date has been changed to Saturday 25th January 2020! \nThe Dinner Dance is a chance to celebrate our year\, and we have much to celebrate. The club has gone from strength to strength over the last few years with lots of reasons to celebrate! We are soon to complete the huge refurbishment of the bar and the top building\, as well as replacing our floodlights with state of the art LED’s and resurfacing the courts\, a project that will cost almost £160\,000. This is an exceptional place to be after the club nearly collapsed financially in 2014. \nI think everybody is truly grateful of the committee and volunteers that have helped Michael get the club to this point.
