Management Board Membership
David Stantiall retired as Club Treasurer and Trustee at the AGM after several years in the role. We would like to thank him for the contribution he has made to the financial stability of our Club.
We are pleased to announce that Lynne Rata has agreed to take on the Treasurer’s and she will also become a Trustee of the Charity. This will be ratified at next year’s AGM.
This does mean that we need to find a replacement for Lynne as Maintenance Coordinator. If you can help please discuss with any Management Board Member
Maintenance Volunteers
Last year we called for volunteers to help with the maintenance and we got a healthy 25 responses – many hands make light work! We simply ask members to contribute what they can when they can so it does not become an onerous responsibility. This year we want to refresh the list and create a WhatsApp group which we can use for specific tasks and working parties. If you did not volunteer last year and you are in a position to help this year please discuss with any Management Board Member.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped with the Spring Clean in April. We’ll be doing the same before Finals Days so all help will be gratefully received!
JOIN THE MY PBTC WhatsApp Community
At the AGM we proposed to create a WhatsApp Community for all members supported by a WhatsApp Community Policy and Privacy Statement :
This was agreed by those attending and we are now in the process of setting up the group. It will be a one-way communication channel for official club updates which will be used for events, court updates, competitions and key notices. Only Management Board Members will be able to post messages and members will not be able to see other members’ phone numbers. It will be voluntary to join and you may leave at any time. The Community Administrator will monitor membership to ensure non-members are not accepted and to remove those who leave the Club.

To support this process members of existing WhatsApp Groups such as Team Captains and Maintenance Volunteers will automatically become members of the Community. Members of WhatsApp Groups are able to see each others contact details and this will continue to be the case, but they will not be able to see the details of members of other groups of which they are not a member.
Juniors & Coaching
We are in full flow for the Summer Term and have been very lucky with the weather! All groups are buzzing and our teams have kicked off the summer season well. We are looking ahead to May Half Term Camps and look forward to welcoming lots more children to the club to start their tennis journey.
Rusty Rackets for adults is now running on a Monday evening at 8.30pm and a Wednesday at 7.30pm. All sessions are busy.
Pickleball
Finally, have you tried pickleball yet? Our 2 pickleball courts are available for our existing full and off-peak adult members. Pickleball only membership is available at £75 for the 2026/27 season
The 2 courts are available for pickleball at specified times
TUESDAY – 1000-1200hrs (Term Time Only)
FRIDAY – 1000-1300hrs (Anytime)
FRIDAY – 1900-20.30hrs (Anytime)
SATURDAY – 1600-1800 (Anytime)
The Friday evening session is well established and we are looking forward to developing the other sessions. There is a WhatsApp group for those interested in playing. and we will consider making additional times available if there is demand, in particular on a Sunday at 4.00pm if members wanted to arrange.
At the moment there will be no play before 1000hrs or after 2030hrs and the courts may not be booked or used ad hoc outside the specified times to avoid disrupting the normal tennis activities at the Club. Coaching will be available subject to demand.
