Extreme Heat Warning from Tuesday 23rd June

The Met Office has issued an Extreme Heat warning for our area, so we all need to take extra care when playing tennis and pickleball. This applies to any temperature above 30C and you need to remember that our hard courts absorb the heat which will make it even hotter.

When you play please make sure you keep well hydrated and wear light breathable clothing. Using a good sunscreen is also recommended – You can find our sun safety policy on our website https://purleyburytennisclub.net/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/2025-Sun-Safety-PolicyPDF.pdf

If you find yourself getting too hot or feeling unwell when you are playing, stop immediately and if necessary seek assistance. Take breaks in the shade to cool off.

Our courts should be resilient in the heat, but please make sure you wear appropriate footwear and let us know if you notice any deterioration in the surface.

Stay safe
